Celebrating The Year of Jubilee

Message from the Pastor

Family and friends, I am so grateful that this is the Year of Jubilee -the 50 th year of God’s favor upon JW James A.M.E. Church! The year of Jubilee according to Leviticus 25 was a year full of release and rest and a time of reaping and

returning to family and loved ones. It is a year of favor -one dedicated to

acknowledging that God has and will continue to provide for every one of our

needs.

We, the JW James A.M.E. Church (formerly known as James Memorial

A.M.E. Church) are celebrating our 50 th year in ministry on Friday,

December 9 th , Saturday, December 10 th , and Sunday, December 11 th , 2022.

This weekend will be filled with reminiscing, rejoicing, and rejuvenating.

If you have been touched or impacted in any way by these 50 years of

ministry under the leadership of our beloved Founders: Reverend Esther J.

Mitchell and Reverend Lucille Lewis Jackson and/or our present Pastor

Garry S. Mitchell Sr., please accept our invitation to join us in celebrating,

thanking, and worshipping God for 50 years of saving, delivering, healing,

and restoring His people.

We praise and thank God for each of you and ask you to save the

date: December 9-11, 2022.

Yours in the Service of our Lord,

Pastor Garry S. Mitchell, Sr.

“Consecrate the 50 th year and proclaim liberty throughout the land

to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you…Each of you is to

return to your own family and your own clan. The 50 th year shall be a

jubilee for you. For it is a Jubilee and is to be holy for you.”

Leviticus 25:10-12

Give Towards THe Goal

A Word from the Chair of the Jubilee Committee

“Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man,

the things which God has prepared for them that love him.” I Corinthians 2:9

This is one of the first Scriptures of promise that I learned many years ago

under this ministry, and I have seen it manifested in so many different ways. I

thank God for the unforeseen opportunity to serve as the Chairperson for this

magnificent celebration. My life and my family’s lives have been so impacted and transformed by the gospel through the ministry of our beloved Founders Jackson and Mitchell.

Yes, I believe that we have not seen yet, nor heard yet, nor even imagined

the things that God has in store for us. We sit in expectation of the miracles,

signs, and wonders that He will perform on this historical Jubilee weekend, and I

encourage each of you who has ever sat at the feet of our Founders Lucille Jackson, Esther Mitchell, and Pastor Garry Mitchell, been changed by their teaching ministry, and has grown in love and service of the Lord – to set the dates aside and join us as we experience God in a new way!

I thank God for the privilege to serve and to seek Him for wisdom in

serving!
